Recent polls and studies show that a considerable percentage of job hunters are prepared to embellish/exaggerate, or even lie about their experience or skillset to try to increase their likelihood of landing a job.
Besides being unethical, this can lead to the best applicant not being selected, and unnecessary productivity loss for the employer.
A simple but very effective way to reduce incidences of exaggeration during the job application process is to use a GlobalPatron form, with "Conditional Logic" to make more questions appear based on their answers to previous questions.
In the example below, if the applicant has claimed to be an "Expert" in a particular skill, two follow up question appears right after it asking them to specify how many "years of experience" they have in that skill, and whether they are available for a timed exam.
Simply even having a question like "are you prepared to sit a timed exam" will strongly discourage applicants from exaggerating their actual knowledge out of fear of being found out. You will find that the presence of the follow-up questions will cause applicants to backtrack and re-think their answer to the initial question about "Level of expertise".
